Students at ISBVI are grouped by age and ability to the greatest extent possible. Students are assigned a grade level because of ISBVI serving a diverse student body in terms of ability levels, ages, ethnicity, visual abilities and handicapping conditions. As in any public school, students are assigned to a grade level, and their education is based on a curriculum aligned with state standards. As determined by each student's IEP team, the curriculum is modified to the extent necessary to meet their individualized instruction needs.
