The amount of forestland in Indiana has steadily increase since the early 1900's. Today we have more than 4.8 million acres of forestland, compared to about 1.5 million acres 100 years ago. More efficient use of our forest resource, expanded management based on the latest research, and incentives that encourage landowners to maintain forestlands have all contributed to this increase.
