The Governor's Long Term Employee Recognition Program, in existence since 1983, recognizes long-term state employees with 35 years of service with the State of Indiana. In 2005, the governor and the Indiana State Personnel Department realized that there were many employees with state service exceeding 35 years. Therefore, the state began to recognize employees with 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 years of service through the Governor’s Long Term Employee Reception held each year in December. So, you will need another 15 years of service to receive official recognition. Some agencies may conduct internal recognition programs for employees with 20 or more years of service.
