Anyone 6 months and older can get vaccinated, and individuals must receive an age-appropriate COVID-19 vaccine. Check ourshot.in.gov for updates.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized emergency use of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine in children 6 months to 17 years old, the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine in children 6 months to 11 years old, and the Novavax COVID-19 Vaccine in children 12 and older. This means each vaccine was proven safe and effective for its respective age group. The Pfizer (Comirnaty) vaccine is fully approved for use in people age 12 and older, and the Moderna (Spikevax) is fully approved for ages 18 and older. The monovalent Novavax booster and the Johnson & Johnson primary and booster vaccinations are authorized for people 18 and older in limited situations.
