The type of vaccine available depends on the clinic, and individuals must receive an age-appropriate COVID-19 vaccine. The Indiana COVID-19 Vaccine Map shows the type(s) of vaccine available at a clinic. The vaccine type is also shown on the registration site. The CDC recommends the Moderna, Novavax and Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines for the primary vaccination series. For booster vaccination, CDC recommends eligible people 6 months and older receive an age-appropriate, updated Pfizer or Moderna vaccine that offers better protection against variants. The monovalent Novavax booster and the Johnson & Johnson primary and booster vaccinations are authorized for people 18 and older in limited situations.
