The Interstate Commission for Adult Offender Supervision and the Interstate Commission for Juveniles govern the transfer of adult and juvenile community supervision across state lines. These interstate compacts were established to maximize public safety, offender accountability, and victim rights. The juvenile compact also governs the return of juveniles who have run away. All 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands are members of the interstate compacts. See more information about the Interstate Compact State Council at www.in.gov/compact.
